Ian Brown delighted shoppers in Manchester when he took to the streets of the city with a forty strong marching band to film the video for his new single ‘Stellify’. The Northern Star Drum and Bugle Corp. joined the former Stone Roses front man for a day’s filming on location in some of Manchester and Salford’s busiest and most derelict inner city areas. Brown, in good spirits, smiled and joked with onlookers during filming breaks – encouraging shoppers and their families to join the procession and star in the video. Shooting in heavy driving rain, I was responsible for documenting the event for Polydor Records. On a tight schedule, I had to steal my moments in between brief breaks in shooting so not to halt action. Stellify is released on September 12, and will be the first track to be taken from forthcoming new studio album My Way, which is out the following week.
